 Summer is coming to an end, but there are still a few more opportunities for the kids of PPC to get together be-fore school begins! There are two spe-cial Junior High events the first week of August – pizza & bowling on Tues-day the 3rd and a movie night at church on Thursday the 5th. Our last day trip for Juniors & Jr. Highers is the Soak City on the 10th. There are still a couple of spots left, so if you haven’t already, please sign up with Shannon ASAP! Rehearsals for this year’s summer musical, Daniel, Darius, & DeLion are Monday through Friday, August 9th-20th, with a one-time-only performance on the night of Saturday the 21st. This is open to 3rd – 8th graders, with some exceptions made for younger readers who are excited and able to partici-pate in full morning rehearsals. The cast also has a swim party on the last Friday of rehearsals and the mu-sical performance is followed by the annual Ice Cream Social where a variety of delicious treats are served and fellowship with church family abounds! Lastly, there are just a couple more swims for Juniors & Jr. Highers – these are the last chances to snack, swim and study with each other before the summer is over.
All of these Juniors and Jr. High events are per-fect opportunities to invite unchurched friends. Take the plunge this summer and invite someone to PPC. It might be the first step towards their life-long relationship with Christ!
Remember – when summer ends, LOGOS begins! The first day of LOGOS will be October 6th, with the Parent’s Meeting in September. Any adults or High School youth who would like to volunteer this year are invited to please contact me in person or at home (714) 869-3171.

July was a really busy month for my family. There was the recovery from VBS, swim afternoons at Lee’s, the ad-venture at Knott’s, trips to Soak City, and then our week in Ventura. School for my grandsons starts on the ninth of this month, so I am now expecting to be able to return to my normal schedule, just my granddaughter, Bella, and me. She, like me, is a big fan of Soak City, so I am anticipating some quiet time with just her and the pools.
Normally, August is a very laid-back time for us. It is a time of vacations and lazy days at the beach or park . . . and a time for me to start planning next year’s VBS. Usually this is not a hard task, but this year there are two really neat programs we could use, making the decision so much harder. Do we want to spend a week with pandas or go back to Jesus’ youth and spend time with Mary! This is something I really need to think about. Learning about Jesus’ early years sounds in-triguing to me. But learning with pandas. . . Oh, my!
Fall term for Kingdom Caravan starts on September 5th. We have some new things planned for Fall that will coincide with what Logos will be doing.
