Charity's Closet

Charity's ClosetCharity’s Closet is a beautiful thrift shop located at 134 North Bradford Ave in Placentia. It operates primar-ily for the purpose of raising funds for HIS House, the Homeless Intervention Shelter next door to the church. However, after three years of operation, the shop has become much more than a store to buy beautiful, gently used products; it now has become a warm, caring gather-ing place for both volunteers as well as customers. It’s a place where people just like to be.

PPC Homework House
The PPC Homework House provides free tutoring to students in grades one through six through a separate non-profit organization. The basic concept of the tutoringhomeworkhouse.gif program is to provide a safe and friendly environment for students to receive assistance in completing their homework. This need is very real. Students who do not perform well in class tend to dread school and classroom participation. The goal of Homework House is to change the attitude a student has toward school. As a student's performance improves, the student becomes a willing participant in the learning process which can turn a child's life around.

Circle of Friendship
Circle of Friendship is a program for disabled, or "differently abled" adults which meets every first and third Thursday from 5:45 to 7:30 PM. The friends and their caregivers meet at PPC for dinner, fellowship, Bible study, music and activities.We are always looking for new ideas. Please call with yours and join the fun.
 
Soup Kitchen
The PPC Soup Kitchen came about through the vision of a member of the church, John Balent, who saw the need to join with other churches and agencies in providing food for the hungry of our community in the name of Jesus Christ. After researching what meals other groups were providing, it was determined that a weekly meal, on Thursday evenings, was needed.

H.I.S. House




In 1989, the Placentia Presbyterian Church, utilizing an old farmhouse next door, began the Homeless Intervention Shelter House known as H.I.S. House. H.I.S. House assists homeless individuals, couples and families regain self-sufficiency through housing, training, counseling and personal support.
